Saturday October 3 – Chenrezig Fire Ceremony for World Peace – 10am-1pm — Napa Valley (Location: TBA)
The Chenrezig ‘Buddha of Compassion’ Fire Ceremony is a sacred ritual in Vajrayana Buddhism, which invokes the power and blessing of the deity. The power and inspiration of the ceremony are dedicated to world peace and the spiritual benefit of all beings.
The life force that helps to protect and heal us from disease or imbalance is strengthened by the fire ceremony. The power of the fire ceremony helps to protect the land and people from natural disasters or dangers such as war. For those who are dying or deceased, the ceremony brings peace and comfort during their transition. If you have lost a loved one, please write their name on a piece of paper and bring it with you. Any difficulties you are experiencing can be written on a piece of paper as well. These will be offered to the fire with special prayers recited by Rinpoche. Donation: $20
Sunday October 4 – Two events in Berkeley CA at Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, 1606 Bonita Ave.
MEDICINE BUDDHA EMPOWERMENT & TEACHING: 1-4:00PM — The aspiration of Medicine Buddha is to remove all physical, mental and emotional suffering. Practicing Medicine Buddha will help balance the four elements of fire, earth, air and water. YESHE TSOGYAL DANCE INSTRUCTION: 5-7PM — Among the great female adepts of Tibetan Tantra, Yeshe Tsogyel is foremost. Yeshe Tsogyel was an eighth century Tibetan princess who became the tantric consort of Tibet’s Great Guru Padmasambhava. Dance demonstration & instruction will be given by dance master Karma Rinpoche.
Karma Rinpoche shares sacred Buddhist teachings, ceremonies and dances. These especially sacred dances may only be performed after the dancer has completed 3 years of solitary retreat high in remote Himalayan mountains. Special deities are invoked for protection, blessings, and consecration of sacred events or places. All who attend this sacred dance will receive the blessings of the diety. Donation $15
Note: Dana, or offering to the Lama, is separate from the donation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
